LAHORE Pakistans future hope and top ranked junior player Samir Iftikhar left for Turkey after getting sponsorship from the PTF. He will travel to India and then to Morocco to feature in the ITF junior world ranking tournaments. He will play in the Enka Open G 4 at Istanbul Turkey, ITF Indian Junior Open G 2, Asian Championships B1 being held in New Delhi from May 10 to 27. He will then proceed to Morocco to play in two ITF G3 events in June. Samir is seeded number 3 at the Turkish Open and on virtue of his world ranking is in the main draw of Elite G2 /B1 events where he will have the opportunity to prove his worth against top 100 world ranked juniors from Asia In an exclusive chat with this scribe before his departure to Istanbul, he stated: I have trained very hard for the past few weeks under supervision of former tennis Stalwart Zulfiqar Rahim at the National Tennis Academy and will try my best to give good performance and beat Indian players on their soil. He hoped that the multi national organizations, Pakistan Sports Board, Pakistan Sports Trust will provide him back up for his participation in the ITF Tournaments which are vital for him to achieve top world ranking.
