LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the federal government should take lead in the construction of Kalabagh Dam and if Peoples Party succeeded in the implementation of this project its name will live forever. According to a government handout issued in Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif while talking to journalists at the residence of MPA Ch M Akhlaq in Sialkot on Tuesday, said that electricity worth billions of rupees is being stolen in the country and it is the responsibility of the federal government to take action against big electricity thieves. He said federal government should take lead in the construction of Kalabagh Dam and if Peoples Party succeeded in the implementation of this project its name will live forever. Regarding the stance of PML-N on Kalabagh Dam, he said the dam is imperative for national economy, however, national consensus is vital before its construction. Replying to another question, the CM said that he will also respond if Nawaz Sharif gave the call of protest against price-hike, loadshedding and unemployment. He said that no follower of Quaid-i-Azam or Allama Iqbal could be satisfied with the present situation. He said that he will not be content until Pakistan is transformed in accordance with their ideals. He said if PML-N leadership had not taken notice of the case of Bank of Punjab, the accused involved in the biggest bank robbery in the history of the country would have escaped the law. He said he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to send the required document to American court for the extradition of Hamesh Khan. He said he had received a letter from the Prime Minister that the requisite letter had been sent.
