ISLAMABAD - Supreme Court Bar Association along with other bar associations would observe May 12 (today) as black day across the country to commemorate the martyrs of the Lawyers Movement of May 12 with a demand to bring the culprits to justice. In a statement, Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association Ameen Naqvi, Tuesday, appealed to all the bar associations and legal fraternity to observe May 12 as black day. He demanded of the government to bring the murderers to the book. He said that everybody knew that killers in the connivance with MQMs terrorists gunned down dozens of innocent lawyers and citizens in Karachi who were welcoming Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on his visit to Karachi when he was illegally deposed by then dictator Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf. Secretary SCBA pledged that till the arrest and punishment of lawyers killers, the legal fraternity would continue its struggle. He demanded of the government to arrest MQM, Altaf Hussain and punish him for his terrorist activities. It may be recalled that on May 12 in its live coverage, electronic media exposed the terrorists, who were busy in their criminal activities while holding party (MQM) flags. After that tragic incident, Chairman Tehreek-i-Insaaf Imran Khan while strongly condemning MQM, also exposed its terrorist and fascist agenda. Khan also registered a criminal and murder cases against Altaf Hussain in United Kingdom where he (Altaf) has been living in self-exile. It is pertinent to mention here that to pressurise the court thousands of MQM workers gathered in the premises of Sindh High Court during the course of hearing of 12 May case. The case is pending in the courts and killers could not be brought to book as yet.
