KARACHI - The man, arrested at Jinnah International Airport with batteries and electrical circuits fitted in his shoes, has been cleared by the Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) and he is likely to be released today (Wednesday). Faiz Mohammad, 30, was about to board a Thai Airways flight to Muscat late on Sunday when the devices were found during a routine security check. The suspect is currently being grilled at the Airport Police Station. The JIT had one more session to interrogate Faiz further and he would be released today, an investigator said. It is pertinent to recall that Faiz, a resident of House No 711 Sector A-13 Khawaja Ajmer Nagri and a civil engineer by profession, was about to fly to Muscat, where he worked in a construction company, when he was arrested after alarm was raised while passing through a walkthrough gate. The sources privy to the developments made during investigation say the shoes known as Good Vibration, he was wearing, are made in China and easily available in the market. Such shoes with an inbuilt vibrating foot-massager are manufactured for the people intending for a long journey. The media highlighted the matter after the ASF officials had described the devices as a completed bomb, missing the explosive only.
