ISLAMABAD Hundreds of supporters of Hazara movement voiced strong support in the favour of formation of Hazara province on the unified platform of Tehreek-e-Sooba Hazara in a seminar here on Tuesday. The function was organised by Hazara Community Welfare Association in the honour of leadership and workers of Thereek-e-Hazara under the theme of Muqadma-e-Hazara. Flanked with hundreds of supporters, Quaid-e-Tehreek-e-Hazara Sardar Haider Zaman said that despite the 41st consecutive day of the ongoing struggle for the formation of Hazara province, the Government had yet to wake up to the call of people of Hazara. He categorically criticised the role of Awami National Party (ANP) and said that 1,500 bullets were fired on the eve of April 12 protests that claimed over a dozen precious lives. The custodians of Constitution resorted to highest order of inhumanity, barbarianism and tyranny, he said referring to the statements of senior officials of Peshawar police that they recorded before Judicial Commission in Abbottabd admitting that the same number of bullets were shot at protestors. He termed the ANP Governments policy towards Hazara s malicious and biased and questioned the unjustified reluctance shown by the Federal as well as Provincial Governments towards the formation of Hazara province when majority of the 24 districts of the province supported the creation of Hazara province. Sardar Haider Zaman cited an advertisement published in national dailies dated September 10, 2009 by the ANP Government in which the Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti officially replaced 'NWFP with 'Pakhtunkhwa. This is ultra constitutional violation, the titular Chief Minister of NWFP violated the Constitution so blatantly like Zardari who committed the same crime while addressing UN General Assembly, he deplored. He criticised the Government and said that such an uncalled for legislation like renaming NWFP exposed the shortsightedness of the Government and 'so-called elected representatives of people. Today people are selling their children out of sheer poverty and our rulers are occupied with trivialities like renaming the province. I ask Nawaz Sharif and Asfandyar Wali, will they sell their children for Pakistan? he asked deploring the highly controversial role of PML-N to succumb to ANP Government. Where should we go to present our case? All these titular rules are not capable of addressing public issues, so we have presented our case for Hazara cause in the court of people of Pakistan, he added. Gohar Ayub Khan severely criticised the role of PML-N and ANP towards Hazara issue. He said that ANP Government unnecessarily revived the issue of renaming NWFP. All the seven districts of FATA have never ever raised a voice for renaming NWFP despite that they have hundred percent Pakhtun population but these titular rulers need an issue to divide us ethnically, he added. He recalled the achievements of Hazara region towards 1965 war, creation of Mazar-e-Quaid, creation of Minar-e-Pakistan, assassination of seven Sikh invader governors in pre-partition era, creation of Tarbela, Mangla, Tonsa and several other power projects and said that Hazara region, gifted with abundance of resources and skilled manpower, was completely capable of managing its affairs as a province. Gohar said that stubborn stance of the Government could affect creation of Bhasha Dimair Dam that had direct proximity to Hazara region. He said that many Pakthun tribes including Jadoons, Tareens, Swatis, Tahirkhelis and several others were in favour of Hazara province and ANP regime, though in vain, was trying to create ethnic division. Other leaders of the Tehreek including Sarday Yaqoob, Umer Ayub Khan, Naseer Khan Jadoon, Mushtaq Ghani, Shehzada Gustasib, and Qasim Shah resolved to sacrifice every thing for Hazara cause.
