LAHORE - The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is going to change marking system of objective-type portion of 9th and 10th classes examinations by separating it from other part(s) of question papers, TheNation has learnt. As per information, separate computerised objective-type (paper) sheets will now be distributed in examination halls during written tests among candidates appearing in all upcoming examinations conducted under aegis of the BISE Lahore. The primary purpose behind introducing this new objective-type exam system is to improve skills of students and discourage traditional study methods being used at present by educational institutions, said Manzoorul Hassan, Controller Examination BISE. He told this scribe that about 30 per cent of such objective-type exam system had been included in all written tests of the BISE examinations, which according to him earlier was a part of question paper(s). The administration now had decided to separate it from other portions of question paper, he maintained. Manzoor clarified that it was a misconception that the BISE was going to include 9th class syllabus in final examinations. No such move is in progress or under consideration. Only 10th class syllabus will be included in question paper(s), therefore, students need not to be worried about the syllabus, he said. It may be mention here that a rumor caused chaos and panic among students of 10th class when they heard that the BISE had decided to include 9th class syllabus in final matriculation examination that worried students because they only had been focusing on syllabus approved by the BISE for final part of matric exam.
