LAHORE - The Debating Society of Government College University has made its mark by grabbing as many as five positions in the district level debates at the Punjab Chief Ministers Speech Contest 2010-11. Ahmed Chaudhry topped among the youth of Lahore in English debates at the intermediate level, while Kamran Hussain Hashmi stood third in the category. Almas Sabeeh Saqib bagged first position in the Urdu debates at the degree level. Shoaib Ahmed stood first in the English debates at the degree level, while Ali Jee Saleemi secured the second position in the category. The competition at the post-graduate level is scheduled to be held on November 22. GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab has facilitated the orators on their commendable performance. He said that the GCU orators had always been a source of pride for their alma mater.
