KARACHI- Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), a leading provider of benchmark indices, announced on Thursday that it has removed the stock of Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) from the MSCI Pakistan Index while other 12 stocks remaining in the index. The stocks of OGDCL, NBP, MCB, HBL, FFC, PPL, PTC and some other companies are still included in the MSCI list. According to the results of MSCI November 2010 Semi-Annual Index Review, the weight of the Pakistans Index prior to the November 2010 rebalancing was 3.84 per cent, however, details are not available with regard to the current weight of the Pakistani Index in the MSCI Frontier Index. In addition to this, MSCI has not placed Pakistan on its rating watch for potential upgrade to Emerging Markets index.
