LAHORE - Lahore Bar Association (LBA) has issued a show cause notice to a lawyer Safdar Saeed for using rough language in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Rafique during proceedings of a petition. As per details, Safdar Saeed attended the court of Malik Rafique in a petition as the judge had already ordered the registration of an FIR in accordance with the ongoing petition. After that the judge also ordered action in accordance with 155-C on which the lawyer Safdar rehashed and tried to argue with the judge in harsh words. LBA Secretary Qasim Hassan Bhuttar told TheNation that Safdar threw the table calendar towards the seat of Additional District and Sessions Judge in agony but at that time (9:55am) the judge had left his seat and gone to his backroom. Secretary claimed that he saw the footage of the incident when District and Sessions Judge Sohail Nasir called the LBA president Sajid Bashir in his chamber for informing him about the whole incident along with the action against Safdar Saeed in accordance with 228-CRPC. Secretary said that during the meeting with the judge, he (Sohail Nasir) assured action against the lawyer after being found him guilty in the hearing to be conducted by LBA committee. He further stated that Safdar Saeed would have to offer an apology to the Judge if he (lawyer) found guilty in the inquiry to be conducted by LBA, otherwise a reference would be dispatch to Punjab Bar Council (PBC) for the cancellation of his license. Qasim further said that LBA had suspended his membership for the time being. Qasim further elaborated that LBA president had asked the District and Sessions Judge to take action against Safdar according to 228-CRPC if Safdar refused to apologise.
