LAHORE - A 60-year-old man was killed by his neighbour after the deceased offered resistance during a dacoity bid in Misri Shah police limits early on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Yaseen commonly known as Chacha Munshi, resident of Godown Khuda Bukhsh at Peco Road. The deceased family members said Yaseen was residing in his shop, where he had kept his two male goats. Sources close to the investigators said a dacoit later identified as Muhammad Abbas barged into the aforesaid shop and attempted to steal the goats at about 3am. Meanwhile, Yase-en awoke up and the accused hit a wooden rod on his head as a result of which the deceased suffered severe injuries, they added. Police investigators said Muh-ammad Yaseen was found dead when the family members approached the site early on Thursday. Police after recovering the body shifted it to the City morgue for autopsy. An FIR has been lodged against the accused on the statement of Maqbool Ahmed, brother of the deceased, with no arrest till the filing of this report. Earlier, some unidentified accused opened indiscriminate fire on two real brothers near Nela School located in Misri Shah police precincts. The persons were later identified as Abdul Rehman and Maqsood. According to Edhi sources, the incident took place between 2 to 3am on Thursday but interestingly Misri Shah police showed complete ignorance regarding the incident. However, the victims were rushed to the Mayo Hospital where their condition was stable. Further investigation was underway.
