KARACHI The continued incidents of target killing on Thursday claimed eight more lives in different incidents of violence while the law enforcement agencies, despite tall claimed, have failed to arrest any culprits, involved in these heinous crimes. As per details, during the 24 hours, the shooters assassinated one of Muttahidas activists, a Lyari gangster and a Shia man. The first incident took place at Ali Akbar Shah graveyard, where the police found a bullet-riddled body of a 25-year-old man who was later identified as Mohammad Hussain Bengali son of Sher Ahmed, resident of sector 48-F Korangi, Ibrahim Hyderi police said. Police said the victim was the active worker of Bengal Action Committee the sub organisation of MQM and used to run a hotel in Korangi, adding that unidentified culprits kidnapped him and later threw his body in Ali Akbar Shah graveyard. Police registered the case on the complaint of victims brother namely Kamal and initiated the probe. Separately a Shia man was gunned down near his house situated at North Karachi within the limits of Sir Syed police station. The victim later identified as 30-year-old Syed Shadab Rizvi son of Razi Uddin Rizvi was the resident of sector 11-A North Karachi, while he was going home after buying milk, unidentified armed men reached on car and open indiscriminate firing on him resultantly he sustained injuries. Police shifted him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where he succumbed during treatment. Police said victim used to run his own business and his father is prominent Zakir, adding that during initial investigation the motive behind the murder is not ascertained. Police suspect the sectarian motive behind the incident. No case was registered till filing the report. In another incident, notorious gambler and bookie was gunned down near Sofa Mosque in the limits of Azizabad police station. The victim 42-year-old Afzal Ahmed Shahab alias Gulfam son of Dildar Ahmed was standing outside his home, two armed men reached on motorcycle and opened firing on him; resultantly he received two bullets and died on the spot. Police said the victim was involved in several cases of gambling and bonding. According to the police officials victim was the close friend of Khalid Shahanshah. Police said victim was the father of three children. In another incident of target killing 28-year-old Yousuf son of Abdul Ghafoor was gunned down in Qayumabad slum area within the precincts of Sohrab Goth police station. Police said the victim had some dispute with his relatives. Victim hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In another incident, a motorcycle mechanic was shot dead in Khadda Market Lyari within the limits of Baghdadi police station. The victim 24-year-old Abid son of Ismail was sitting in Bilal hotel with his friend and busy in taking tea, suddenly one armed man reached and opened firing on him. Resultantly he died on the spot. According to the police officials victim used to run a motorcycle mechanic workshop in Lyari and he was the resident of Khadda Market. Police believed personal enmity behind the incident. Separately, police found a bullet-riddled body of Rehman Dacoits relative near Lyari Degree College in the jurisdiction of Kalakot police station in the wee hours of Thursday. The victim later identified as 24-year-old Saqib Baloch son of Javed Baloch was the resident of Afshani Street Lyari and he was kidnapped on Wednesday after the clash between Baba Ladla group and Rehmans relative Muslim Baloch group. Police said victim had also affiliated with Lyari gangsters and after kidnapping culprit had several tortures to him and after shot him to death, threw his body near Degree College. Police registered FIR No 312/10 against unidentified men on the complaint of victims relative Shakeel. In another incident police found a bullet-riddled body in the Shamsi Society Zamzama Corner within the limits of Al Falah police station. The victim later identified as Mohammad Irfan son of Atta Rasool was the resident of Junejo Town Manzoor Colony. According to the police officials victim was the electrician and painter by his profession, unidentified culprits kidnapped him on Wednesday and after murder threw his body in Shamsi Society. Police believed personal enmity behind the incident and victim had no affiliation with any political or religious party. In last incident, a son of labour contractor was gunned at Kemari neat Gate No. 15 in the limits of Jackson police station. Police said the victim Zeeshan came here with his father Zafar Iqbal alias Zafara to meet someone and parked his car near Gate No. 15 where the three unidentified armed men riding in three different motorcycles reached and opened indiscriminate fir on them and managed to flee from the scene. The victim Zeeshan and his father sustained injuries and tried to escape from the crime scene, however his car collided with standing trawler and victim died at the spot. No case was registered till filing of this story.
