Disconnection of gas supply of defaulted consumers

LAHORE (PR): Managing Director SNGPL, Mr. M. Arif Hameed has issued orders to speed up the process of disconnecting govt./special & domestic defaulting consumers in view of the orders given by Prime Minister to take strict action against gas bill defaulters. In this regard SNGPL has disconnected the following 45 govt./special & domestic defaulting consumers having cumulative gas bills default of Rs. 19,713,080.

In this respect following 12 consumers of Islamabad, 16 consumers of Rawalpindi,2 consumers of Gujranwala ,1 consumer of Gujrat ,2 consumers of Sialkot ,1 consumer of Kamoke , 1 consumer of Hangu ,1 consumer of Lala Musa ,1 consumer of Multan ,1 consumer of Mianwali , 1 consumer of Nankana Sahib ,2 consumers of Peshawar ,1 consumer of Hasanabdal ,1 consumer of Sheikhupura,1 consumer of Lahore regions

Eni finds gas in Indonesia

MILAN (PR): Eni has made an important gas finding in the Merakes exploration prospect, in the East Sepinggan Block, where Eni is operator with a 100% stake. The Block is located in the offshore East Kalimantan (Borneo), 170 kilometres south of the Bontang LNG Plant and 35 kilometres from the offshore Jangkrik field, also operated by Eni.

The finding was made through the Merakes 1 well which was drilled at a water depth of 1,372 metres and reached a total depth of 2,640 metres.

Australia to facilitate Pakistan in tariff regime

KARACHI (PR): Peter Heyward Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan while addressing the fourth annual dinner of the Pakistan Australia Business Forum (PABF) has said that the government of Australia will facilitate Pakistan by changing its tariff regime by greatly slashing tariffs on the import of Pakistani textiles beginning next year.

The maximum tariff to be imposed would be five per cent. This step would also help Pakistan in balancing its trade which is still in favour of Australia.

He added that the Forum is a key partner in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Australia.

Maaz and Sadaf to represent Pakistan at Telenor summit

ISLAMABAD (PR): Telenor Pakistan has announced Maaz Imran and Sadaf Amin as representatives from Pakistan at the second edition of Telenor Youth Summit 2014 in Oslo, Norway, which is being organized in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center. The two winners of the qualifying competition will also get a chance to attend the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and Concert.

The competition attracted over 800 entries towards bringing positive social change through the use of mobile communication and internet.

 As per the judging format, after three rounds of extensive evaluation, top 11 participants were called in to present their ideas to a panel of esteemed jury members including Salman Ansari, former advisor, Ministry of IT & telecommunications; Badar Khushnood, Google - Pakistan Country Consultant for Google Inc; Omer Bin Tariq, Director, Internet and Devices, Telenor Pakistan, Atifa Asghar, Director Corporate Communications and Responsibility, Telenor Pakistan and Sidra Iqbal, youth activist.

UMT seminar on Iqbal Day
