Islamabad- Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan today said that he has not taken U-turn on demand of resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to media before leavening to Nankana Sahib, Khan said that he did not take U-turn on his demand of Prime Minister’s resignation but just conditioned it with party sit-in. “Nawaz Sharif can continue his PM post amid investigation of judicial commission but the sit-in would be continue in meantime,” Khan said.

He said if we abandon our sit-in amid judicial commission investigation, Nawaz Sharif would not fulfill his promise to resign if rigging was proved in 2013 general polls.

Khan said that the government had agreed our demand to include ISI and MI in judicial commission to investigate rigging in last general election.

PTI chief said that it was not violation of the Constitution or law to include the personnel of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) in a Judicial Commission to investigate vote rigging allegations. “Basically the job of Judicial Commission is to prepare investigation report, and the decision in light of the report will be taken by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The judges of the Commission will take administrative and executive inputs from representatives of ISI and MI during the investigation,” he said.

Imran Khan also claimed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif himself asked the army chief to play his role for an end to political crisis in the country. “It was Sharif who asked the army chief to intervene in the negotiations between PTI, PAT and the government. Nawaz Sharif later lied in the Parliament that General Raheel Sharif himself offered mediation, and now he is accusing me of trying to involve agencies,” said Imran Khan .
