GUJRANWALA - The dacoits and thieves rampaged through the district areas, depriving citizens of gold ornaments, cash, vehicles, cellphones and other valuables in various strikes over the past 48 hours.

According to police sources, bandits intercepted one Abdul Kareem and his wife at Ladhewala Warriach and snatched Rs36,000, gold ornaments and two cellphones while Abu Bakar was deprived of Rs42,000 and two cellphones in the same locality. In Ferozwala, dacoits took away applied for motorcycle, Rs4,000 and two cellphones from Adnan, in Cantt area, Ashfaq was deprived of Rs9,000 and cellphone at gunpoint, at Ahmed Nagar robbers looted Rs27,000, two cellphones and three gold rings and in Emanabad, armed men snatched Rs30,000 and three cellphones from Zahid. On Jinnah Road, robbers took away Rs17,000 and cellphone from Wasif, in the remit of Kotwali Police, armed men snatched Rs35,000 and cellphone from Robina and in the remit of Sabzi Mandi Police, dacoits took away applied for motorcycle from Shamrez. Similarly, in theft incidents elsewhere, Mehran cars owned Shahzad and Musa and a brand new motorcycle of Haroon were stolen from different places. Yet in more such incidents, unknown thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the houses of Majid, Luqman and Khawar.
