KARACHI -  Chief Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui took oath as Sindh Governor here on Friday.

Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC), Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath while Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, Sindh Ministers, MNAs, MPAs, judges, members of lawyer fraternity and high civil and military officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.

It is pertinent to mention here that, former Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan who served for nearly 14 years was removed from the slot two days earlier. Reportedly, the newly appointed governor got some criticism from the political leaders for being too old and suffering ill health although he enjoys a good reputation for his earlier services in country`s judicial system.

Furthermore it was also reported that newly appointed Governor Justice Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui after taking oath postponed his visit to Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum due to his ill health whereas the office-holders conventionally pay visit after taking office.
