BAHAWALNAGAR-All the law-enforcement agencies have been put on red alert to maintain the law and order and ensure foolproof security across the district on Ashura.

Bahawalnagar DPO Liaquat Ali Malik while talking to office bearers and members of journalists organisation at Police Lines, said that the LEAs have rendered sacrifices to save lives of the pubic at all fronts. He said that both the state and nation are united and committed to eliminating terrorism. About security measures in district Bahawalnagar, the DPO said that 1,900 policemen have been deployed to keep guard on 38 Muharram processions and 377 majalis. He informed that strict monitoring has been carried out at entry and exit points of district, city and venue of Majalis, adding that effective monitoring has been carried out to check suspicious activities and persons. He said that Section 144 has been imposed in the district while carrying or brandishing weapon and pillion riding have also been prohibited. He pointed out that security has been tightened at 10 points declared in the district. Mr Malik also underlined the role media for better law and order.
