KARACHI - The 60th death anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was observed in a befitting manner throughout the country. Governor Sindh Dr lshratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah Thursday arrived at his mausoleum to pay homage. They laid floral wreath at the mausoleum and offered fateha. Members of Sindh Cabinet and advisors were also present on the occasion which included Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq, Mir Nadir Ali Magsi, Shazia Marri, Abdul Haq Bhurt, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Zahid Bhurgri, Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, Askari Taqvi, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi, Advisor to CM Rashid Rabbani, PPP leader Siddique Abu Bhai, IG Police Sindh Babar Khattak, Principal Secretary to CM Syed Sohail Akbar Shah, DCO Karachi Muhammad Hanif and others. The governor Sindh and CM, while recording their views on visitors' book, paid rich tributes to the enthusiasm, spirit and courage of the father of the nation with his vision. They reaffirmed their pledge to follow the principles of Quaid-e-Azam and serve the people without any distinction, so as to solve their problems. Later, while talking to media men, Ebad said that Quaid-e-Azam was a great leader, who blessed the Muslims of the subcontinent with the creation of separate homeland, Pakistan. He informed that the Sindh consumers' protection ordinance has been approved. CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that he and the members of Sindh Cabinet had come to pay homage to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his 60th death anniversary, who achieved great country like Pakistan with his struggle and political vision, which is an example for the people of subcontinent. He stressed of following the principles and should remember the struggle of Quaid-e-Azam. "Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was student at that time when Quaid-e-Azam was struggling for achieving a separate homeland for Muslims, and he wrote a letter to Quaid-e-Azam that he was ready to sacrifice his life for the cause of Pakistan," he added. Shah said that our leader Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life to restore rule of law and supremacy of Constitution struggled under philosophy of Quaid-e-Azam and programme of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. "Currently Pakistan is facing internal and external challenges, while we are struggling to end price-hike, unemployment and poverty so as to fulfill the commitment made for the success of Benazir Bhutto's programme." He maintained that due to vision, far-sightedness & strategy of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, the effects of dictatorship had been ended and General (Retd) Musharraf had been forced to resign. He said with the combined efforts of PPP, PML-N, MQM, ANP and JUI, they got the country out of political crisis. He said that with the strategy of President Zardari, the federal government and provincial governments were formed. However, expectations of people had been increased, while in spite of bad situation of economy, they intend to go ahead for the betterment of economy. "People had awarded historic mandate to our party and we will solve the problems of unemployment and poverty." Shah said that now the challenge of our responsibilities had been started, and they would get success in solving problems from Karachi to Kashmore. But some time was needed to achieve the results.
