QUETTA - At least two people were killed and 10 others injured in three separate incidents of explosions in provincial capital and Barkan district on Wednesday. According to police sources, unknown people planted an explosive device with a motorcycle that was parked near the check post of Frontier Corps (FC) at Sariab Road near Irrigation Colony. The device went off with a big bang killing two persons on the spot and wounding several others. The injured and deceased were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. 'The blast was remote controlled and explosive device was fitted in a motorcycle and parked near FC check post, a police official said. A deceased was identified as Abdul Majeed resident of Sariab area while four injured were identified as Rehmatullah, Shah Muhammad, Muhammad Ehsan, Muhammad Nawaz and Kajal Khan. Frontier Corps officials, told The Nation that during cross-firing a miscreant was also killed, however, his identification was yet to be ascertained. 'No FC personnel was injured in the attack, they added. The sources said that soon after the blast massive exchange of firing started from both sides at the area that continued for several minutes. 'I was passing from the area on my bicycle when the blast occurred and I was badly hit by a splinter in my hand and I fell on the ground, Kajal Khan an injured told newsmen. Soon after the incident, heavy contingent of police, FC and Balochistan Constabulary reached the site and cordoned of the area. However, so far no organisation has claimed responsibility for the blast. Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has strongly condemned the bomb blast and directed for immediate arrest of the culprits. Meanwhile, a truck was damaged in a remote controlled bomb attack that injured two persons at Mian Ghundi, outskirts of Quetta. Police sources said, unknown persons had planted explosive device at the roadside that exploded with big bang when truck was passing from the site. As a result, truck was damaged and driver and cleaner of the truck sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment. A person was also injured in rocket attack in Barkan district. Official sources said, militants fired four rockets from nearby mountains of Barkan. Two of the rockets landed in a play ground and exploded with big bang causing injuries to a person identified as Mir Muhammad while the other rockets landed in an isolated area. The security forces retaliated and forced the attackers to flee from the area. Moreover, a landmine laid by unidentified people in Jaffarabad district exploded with a bang. However, no loss of life and damage to property was reported in the blast. Talking to newsmen spokesman of banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Azad Baloch claimed responsibility of the remote controlled bomb attack on the truck of security forces at Mian Ghundi. He further claimed responsibility for the rocket attack in Barkan and attack on a police party in Sariab area.
