ISLAMABAD - The first Islamabad Tennis League will roll into action today (Friday) here at Islamabad Tennis Complex with six teams will be seen in action on the opening day. Eight teams will participate in the six-week long event. Talking to The Nation on Thursday, ITC MD and ex-Davis Cup coach Fazl-e-Subhan said: “It was my dream to work on grassroots level to find and groom raw talent. This league will serve great purpose to Pakistan tennis in producing future stars.” In the first match, Gun Club will face Police Academy at 3:30pm while Navy takes on Islamabad Club in the second and hosts Islamabad Tennis Complex will meet Modern Club in the third. There is also a sports journalists category in which 12 journalists will face each other tomorrow (Saturday).–Staff Reporter
