Rawalpindi - Police claimed to have arrested 15 members of four gangs involved in dacoities and street crimes during the last seven days, besides recovering five stolen motorcycles, a car, a rickshaw and weapons. Similarly, police during different actions arrested 155 proclaimed offenders and 35 court absconders from different localities of the city, informed police spokesman here on Friday.

According to him, Police Station Saddar Wah officials nabbed 6 members of two gangs involved in car snatching and recovered a car, 6 pistols and 28 bullets from their possession. The detainees were identified as Mudasir, Naved, Waqas, Wasim, Anam Ali and Saif-ur-Rehman, he added.

He said that PS Race Course apprehended 8 members of two gangs for their involvement in dacoites and street crimes and recovered 5 motorcycles, one rickshaw, four pistols of 30-bore, one revolver and 26 bullets. Similarly, PS Airport arrested a dacoit Sultan Mehmood and recovered a dagger from his passion. Cases were registered against the detainees while further investigation was on, he added.
