ISLAMABAD : The Establishment Division on Friday issued the notification of retirement of Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema. His retirement would be effective from January 1, 2015.

The federal government has also approved one-week holidays of Secretary Interior and handed over his charge to Additional Secretary Interior Ministry Arif Khan.

Naveed was appointed Chief Secretary Punjab in October 2013, and he replaced Javed Aslam after his appointment as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister.

Naveed is a grade 22 bureaucrat of DMG group and served on different key posts in Punjab and Kyber Patunkhawa. Federal Secretary Interior Shahid Khan is going on a week leave from 19th of December and his charge has been handed over to Additional Secretary Interior Arif Khan.

The government has also posted a grade 22 officer of Pakistan customs group Amir Khan Marwat as Secretary Textiles and Industries.
