Pippa Middleton had a short-lived stint as a model, it has been revealed. The 27-year-old took part in a fashion show while studying at Edinburgh University in 2004, wearing clothes by designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier. By participating in the event, which was hosted by Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow, Pippa helped raise 22,000 for a cancer care centre at Scotlands Western General Hospital, the Edinburgh Evening News reports. Two years earlier, her sister Kate Middleton appeared as a mannequin at a university fashion show, wearing a now-infamous transparent dress. Recalling their time with Pippa at university, a fellow student claimed: As soon as Pippa arrived at Edinburgh, she was assiduous about joining the right social circle; she was very charming about it, but quite ruthless in cultivating the right friends. Another fellow model also told the Daily Mail: Pippa was a very pretty girl with a phenomenally trim, sporty figure. She looked great - and she knew it. Pippa and Kate were recently said to be 'very competitive over the amount of press that they received during the royal wedding in April. Pippa was tipped to be named 'Rear Of The Year, but was beaten by 50-year-old TV personality Carol Vorderman. DS
