ATTOCK/VEHARI-Punjab Minister for Mines Ch Sher Ali stressed a need for making the complaint cells at the Ramazan bazaars affective to redress the visitors’ complaints and directed the authorities to improve the facilities at the bazaars.

He said that the purpose of Ramazan bazaars is to provide quality edibles for the consumers at subsidised rates. During his surprise visit to Attock and Hazro Ramazan bazaars, he said that the government has given billions of rupees subsidy to at flour, sugar and pulses prices. The provincial minster expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made in the bazaars.

He appreciated the administration of Hazro Ramazan bazaar. The minister was informed that in Attock district, six Ramazan bazaars and eight Dastarkhawans have been set up. In these bazaars sugar, flour, bason and pulses are being provided at subsidised rates while prices of other edibles are kept under control. On the other hand people from different walk of life said that setting up of Ramazan Sasta bazaars is a good step by the Punjab govt. However, they demanded reduction in prices of commodities at conventional markets of cities, villages and far flung areas.

In Vehari, DCO Akbar Ali and DPO Ghazi Salahuddin made a visit to Sabaz Mandi to check prices of fruit and vegetables. Administration made the visit under the daily monitoring policy. During the visit, DCO found some malpractices regarding weight and quality of products which were different from instrucions. DCO immediately summoned Inspector market committee Javed iqbal and ordered for inquiry against inspector for negligence.EDO agriculture Ch Mushtaq Ali and secretary market committee Muhammad Ajaz Saleem were also present.
