RAWALPINDI - Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that provision of clean and potable drinking water to Pindities was the top priority of the government and in initial phase solar filter would be established at schools to provide clean water to students to protect them from diseases and masses could use it too.

He said that Rawalpindi Chamber should prepare a plan to and help the government to identify such places/schools in this regard.  Sarwar offered President Rawalpindi Chamber to come forward and play a key role in Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to improve its functioning. He was exchanging these views with a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by the President Dr Shimail Daud Arain at his office on Tuesday. 

Vice President Muhammad Alam Chughatai, members' executive committee Chaudhry Jamil, Younus Dar, Tariq Mughal, Fazalur Rehamn, Khurshid Sheikh and Siffat Nabi were also included in the delegation.   Governor said that establishment of Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate would be made at earliest on the demand of Rawalpindi Chamber and construction of Gems and Jewelry Development Center was the need of the hour to promote the said industry as Rawalpindi region has vast potential in gems and jewelry sector.

He said that government was serious to made Rawalpindi as the most developed city of the country and metro bus service would also be started to facilitate the commuters.
