The Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Saturday has said that army is not playing any role in the process of accountability and drive against corruption.

Army believes only democracy is the way forward and as an institution, Pakistan Army has provided full support to democratic institutions, he added.

On a query related to India's claim of surgical strikes on Pakistan, Major General Asif Ghafoor said, "surgical strike is a myth and India was running lies to discredit Pakistan".

“We have the power to retaliate within ten minutes if any adventure is carried out. There should be no doubt about that”, if India dares to launch a surgical strike inside Pakistan, it will face ten surgical strikes in response, he stressed.

Talking to media in London, DG ISPR said those who think of any misadventure against us should have no doubt in their minds on Pakistan's capabilities.

DG ISPR said Pakistan Army is custodian of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and this mega project will strengthen the economy of the country.

To a question, Major General Asif Ghafoor said Pakistan Army wants strengthening of democracy in the country. He said general elections 2018 were most transparent ever in history of the country.

DG ISPR said there is a complete freedom of expression in the country. He said there is more good in Pakistan than the bad and international media should also highlight positive things about Pakistan.

He said Pakistan has rendered huge sacrifices in the war against terrorism to make the region and world safer.

Director General ISPR said around 76,000 Pakistanis have embraced martyrdom in this war. He said today's Pakistan is much better than past.
