LAHORE - The Pakistan Hockey Federation is not in a hurry to name management of the senior team and national selection committee and these two important decisions will be taken after thorough deliberations. This was stated by Secretary, PHF, Mohammad Asif Bajwa at a news conference here on Wednesday at national hockey stadium. Also present were Shahid Bhandara, Director Marketing and former Olympian Mohammad Akhlaq. "At the moment no decision has been taken on these two important positions and hopefully these positions will be filled before next assignment of the senior team after the Hamburg Masters Hockey tournament next month", he said. "We do not want to decide on these issues in haste and many names are under consideration and we will be taking a decision in due course of time", he maintained. He said the management of the junior team comprising Jahangir Butt, Danish Kaleem and Kamran Ashraf will manage the side in the tournament in which Pakistan will be fielding its almost junior team after senior team's poor eight finish in Beijing Olympics. "We don't believe in taking short term measures for the revival of hockey our goal is to evolve a broad base activity plan to lift the game out of present gloom", he said adding " It is time to leave the fear factor of defeat in any tournament and to concentrate on grooming young players who are the future of the Pak team in coming days". Secretary PHF rejected a question that he had differences with the President PHF on any issue. "I am enjoying cordial relations with him and a wrong impression is being created in this regard."
