LAHORE - More than 2,500 worship points have been termed sensitive following the intelligence based information received yesterday.

Senior police officials have asked management of these sensitive mosques, Eidgahs and other points to cooperate with police officials in maintaining law and order on Eid-ul-Azha.

A detailed report has also been sent to Punjab government in this regard.

Lahore police have chalked out a security plan for Eid day in which patrolling and deployment of police has been ensured at sensitive places. Sources said that 2337 mosques and 255 Imam bargahs and open areas have been declared sensitive where faithful will gather to perform their Eid prayer. More than 6000 police officials including commandoes will perform duties apart from other police staff. Police have distributed these points in three categories including A, B and C. As per police 162 mosques and 24 open places fall in category A.
