Her Twitter account has been peppered with shrill updates as she prepared in earnest for the 2014 London Marathon, a gruelling 26-mile slog that takes participants from Blackheath to The Mall.

Limbering up ahead of the event, Bristol based model Amy Willerton - whose rigorous training regime has seen her pound the pavement during business trips to Southern California - was in high spirits as she mingled with fellow runners.

The 21-year-old, participant number 26778, sported a canary yellow T-shirt, black leggings and colourful Asics trainers as she went through a series of pre-marathon stretches.

Amy was joined on the day by father Bruce as they endeavour to raise money for the Chickenshed charity, a youth theatre company that provides creative opportunities for youngsters - something that resonates with the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here contestant.

‘I’m absolutely terrified as I have NEVER ran a marathon or even a half marathon at this point!’ she told the Bristol Post.

‘Daddy Willerton however is experienced marathon runner and IRONMAN so I think he will be dragging me across the finish line.

‘We are running to help raise funds for the Chickenshed Theatre School - I personally always found massive comfort in my drama classes at school, having been badly bullied.

‘It was the chance to escape the world and dive into dream world where anything is possible.’

The venture, which also provides opportunities for those with physical and mental impairments, is also something that touches home with the model as her younger brother Ross suffers from severe autism.
