ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi said a plan is being evolved to increase cotton production across the country. In an interview, he said the government is giving top priority to the value addition in the textile sector. Replying to a question, he said that due to prudent polices of the present government, country’s exports volume of value-added textile sector has increased from 13 to 15 percent. The Minister said the government is committed to promote small industry and domestic commerce like other regional countries to enhance the trade volume and create new job opportunities for the people on sustainable basis.
