RAWALPINDI (APP) - Pakistan Post has established a Small and Express Centre here at Committee Chowk equipped with modern facilities to cater to the customers needs and to ensure its sustained growth in earnings and profitability. This centre is the first of the 100 being set up in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan, Gujrat, Jehlum, Bannu, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Sibi etc during this financial year to follow the direction given by the Prime Minister. Speaking on the occasion, Post Master General, Sultan Ahmed said the center will provide a number of postal services to the customers under one roof, including urgent mail, express mail, fax mail. money order, fax money order, international speed post, registry and parcel booking. The customers will also get the facility of remittance of money through Western Union and acceptance of utility bills, Sultan said. Keeping pace with the changing communications market, Pakistan Post is emphasizing on the use of new communication and information technologies to move beyond what is traditionally regarded as its core postal business. President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Kashif Shabbir after inaugurating the centre told journalists that establishment of Express Centre by Pakistan Post is a vital step to provide modern and affordable services to its customers. He suggested that such express centers should be established across the country so that the maximum number of persons could avail state-of-the-art services. Divisional Superintendent, Pakistan Post Rawalpindi, Shah Zaman Khan said that the express centers will specially benefit the businessmen as they would get all the facilities under one roof.
