RAWALPINDI - Inauguration ceremony of IT lab at Governmentt Koh-i-Noor Boys High School (English medium), Peshawar Road Rawalpindi took place the other day. According to a press release, chief gust of the ceremony was Malik Abrar Ahmed, MNA from NA-54 who is an ex-student of this school. In his address, he appreciated that the Punjab government has taken a revolutionary step to establish 4286 IT labs in government schools of 36 districts of Punjab. He informed that these labs would facilitate 34 lakh male and female students besides 10,770 teachers of the Punjab province to be equipped with the latest technology of IT. The chief gust also promised to build a Science Block, four classrooms along with the induction of two more secondary school teachers (SST) against the vacant posts in the school. Mansoor Hussain Malik, Senior Headmaster of the school lauded the IT labs project of Punjab government and remarked it as one of the mega projects. He said that IT labs would increase the efficiency of the teachers. He also emphasised the construction of more classrooms, induction of at least two secondary school teachers (SST) especially science teachers against vacant posts. The school has been functioning under the education department of the Punjab government since 1972. It has been covering a vast area of population to educate them in Science, Arts and Computer Science subjects as an English medium school. IT lab of the school has been established by education department of the Punjab government.
