The corruption cases listed by NAB that were quashed under the NRO contain cases that are so glaringly obvious that one can have no doubt. For example, topping the list is name of our President with assets of Rs. 144 billions which is a mind boggling figure, to say the least. How could it be imagined that a person would amass so much wealth during his few years in power without any previous foundation of companies and factories in his name or a fabulous inheritance from somewhere? The PPP stalwarts are crying hoarse that no case of corruption was ever proven against him. But a person who lives so much beyond his known means of income raises serious doubts, even though, the white-collar crime notoriously takes a long time to prove. -DR.
