Rawalpindi - The dead body of a four-and-half-year-old boy who went missing in rain was found on the bank of Nullah Leh at Dhoke Ratta area, informed police here on Monday.

The dead body was later shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for post mortem after which the doctors handed it over to heirs for burial, police said.

According to police, four-and-half-year-old Haider Ali son of Shahid Mehmood went missing from Street Number 1, Chowki Mohalla, during heavy rain that hit the city. The incident was also reported to Police Station (PS) Ratta Amral and a hunt was also launched for the missing baby, police said. However, some passerby spotted the dead body of the baby lying on the bank of Nullah Leh and informed police. A team rushed to the site that took the dead body into custody and shifted it to hospital, police mentioned.

Station House Officer (SHO) PS Ratta Amral Malik Afzal, when contacted, said that the body died after drowning into water and police were investigating whether he himself slipped into water or somebody pushed him.
