A nine-year old girl, who was kidnapped by a criminal from Karachi, was recovered by the relatives of the girl with the help of citizens dramatically when they caught the kidnapper from a shrine here on Monday.

The kidnapper was handed over to police while the girl Tayyeba was taken back by the relatives. A relative of the girl told journalists that the criminal kidnapped the girl from Karachi one month ago and a case was registered against him in Karachi.

He said that the Karachi police found out after investigation that the girl was living with the kidnapper at Shah Shamas darbar in Multan on which the relatives of the girl, who lived in Multan, were informed. The relatives informed local police but they refused to recover the girl, saying that the case was registered in Karachi and not Multan. The people caught the kidnapper, tied him to a poll and badly thrashed him. Later on, he was handed over to local police.

SPMS CARRIED OUT 191 RAIDS: The Special Price Magistrates (SPMs) have conducted 191 raids during the ongoing holy month of Ramazan to keep the prices hike under control and fined 23 shopkeepers.

district government has appointed 44 magistrates who inspected 46 markets and got registered 15 FIRs against the profiteers. Similarly, special teams also took action against violators of Ehtaram-e-Ramazan Ordinance and caught 450. Sources said that 36 violators were booked while 32 were sent to jail.
