LAHORE (Staff Reporter): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry would share research work for the economic wellbeing of the country.

The decision was taken at a meeting between the LCCI and FPCCI office-bearers at the LCCI. Speaking on the occasion, FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Adrees stressed the need for maximizing interaction between the FPCCI and its constituent trade bodies to get resolved the issues being faced by the trade and the industry.

He said that there was a dire need to jointly work for improving Pakistan’s perception that has been tarnished by the enemies of the country for their ulterior motives and to achieve this goal all the chambers of commerce and industry of the country and the trade bodies would have to work hand in hand.

Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz gave the office-bearers and Executive Committee of FPCCI a detailed briefing on the measures initiated by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry to supplement government efforts for the economic revival.

Former FPCCI Chief Iftikhar Ali Malik said that FPCCI strength lies in the strengthening of its constituent institutions therefore all the chambers should work for the promotion of trade and industry.

Iftikhar Ali Malik said that collaboration among Public, Private sector, Academia and Intelligentsia are a prerequisite to achieve the goal of progress and prosperity. They cited the examples of Japan and Korea where an interaction among the Public, Private sector, Academia and Intelligentsia have done miracles.
