LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed a civil miscellaneous application moved by fashion model Ayyan Ali, a currency smuggling accused, to put on record the additional evidences in her case.

LHC Justice Anwarul Haq took up the application and allowed the petitioner’s counsel to put on record the evidences in the case. The main case will be heard on Tuesday (today).

In previous hearing, the LHC overruled objection of the registrar office on the bail petition of supermodel Ayyan Aliand fixed it before a division bench.

The Registrar office objected to the petition that it was not maintainable and said the court had dismissed the same few days back. A single bench comprising Justice Abdul Sami Khan took up the petition as “objection case” and gave an opportunity to the model’s counsel Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa to argue on the point.

The petitioner’s counsel told the judge that he had filed petition against the order of the Customs appellate bench of the high court that had dismissed the earlier petition. He said a division bench can hear the appeal against the order of the custom bench.

On June 29, Justice Abdul Sami Khan as being member of the Customs appellate bench of the LHC dismissed the bail petition of Ayyan Ali.

On March 14, the Customs officials arrested Ayyan Ali from Rawalpindi airport when she was going to Dubai and recovered $508,000 from her luggage.
