LAHORE: The Mozang police have failed to make any headway in the snatching incident whereby a Nation staffer was deprived of cash and a smartphone on May 14.

Though the police registered an FIR No 335/15 on May 18, four days after the incident, the law enforcement agency has failed to trace and arrest the culprits so far.

The incident occurred in front of Daily The Nation office on Queen's Road when armed motorcyclists intercepted Ahsan Yousaf, a staffer of Daily The Nation - the sister organisation of Urdu daily Nawa-i-Waqt - outside office around 10:30pm on May 14 last. The muggers snatched cash Rs14,000 and a smartphone from him and fled away.

The Mozang police registered a case four days of the incident after hectic efforts by the victim. However, despite the lapse of two months, the police failed to make any headway in the case. Ahsan Yousaf has demanded CCPO Capt (r) Amin Wains and the Inspector General of Police to order the police officials concerned to ensure recovery of looted items at the earliest.–Staff Repoter
