RAWALPINDI - Police claimed to have arrested a total of 20 drug peddlers and illegal arms holders from different localities of the city and recovered 3685 grams of Charas, 18 liquor bottles, 5 pistols of 30 bore with 18 bullets, 1 pistol of 9mm with 5 bullets and 80 porno CDs from their possession. Police put all the accused behind the lockups after lodging cases against them whereas integration has also been launched, informed police spokesman here on Monday. According to details, ASP Murree Syed Iqrar Shah nabbed one Sajid on account of selling Charas among devotees in Urs of Baba Lal Shah in Surasi two days before and recovered 1kg Charas from him. Later ASP also conducted a raid at the home of Sajid from where he recovered 1010 grams of Charas and a 30 bore pistol with 5 bullets. A case has been registered against Sajid with Police Station (PS) Murree on the instructions of ASP. Ali and Abbas were also taken into custody by PS Murree officials for owning 220 grams of Charas. Similarly, officials of Ganjmandi, Pirwadhai, New Town and Wah Cannt captured Sajid, Navid, Munawar, Fariq and Mashriq Khan and recovered 1455 grams of Charas from their possession. In an action against liquor sellers or buyers, PS RA Bazaar officials held Suhail and Aziz Khan and seized 6 bottles of liquor from them and PS Wah Cannt rounded up Khalid with 10 bottles of alcohol while PS Jalti apprehended Shehzad on account of carrying two bottles and Tahir for keeping a 30 bore pistol illegally. Three illegal arms holders namely Israr, Tanveer and Riaz were taken into custody by officials of police stations Kahuta, Kallar Seydan and Waris Khan with 3 pistols of 30 bore including 13 bullets. In another action, PS Civil Line officials held Saqib and recovered a 9mm pistol with 5 bullets.
