HAFIZABAD - The farmers are facing lots of hardships and inconvenience in getting fertilisers, which has been virtually vanished from the market, Kissan Board President Amanullah Chattha said on Sunday. In this connection, a joint meeting of the growers, dealers and district officers was convened by DCO Muhammad Asif. The DCO directed the officers concerned that those found creating artificial scarcity or those found indulging in hoarding be taken to task. He also directed the officials concerned to check the stock of dealers and no one would be allowed to sell urea more than Rs1,260. Amanullah Chattha demanded transparent supply of fertilizer. Two die in road accident: Two people, including an elderly woman, were killed in two separate road accidents at the different places here on Sunday. According to police source, Mehran Bibi (80) of Iqbal Nagar was waiting for public transport near Jalalpur Bhattian when a speedy tractor-trolley hit her, killing her on the spot. In another incident, Nasrullah and Sahib Khan of Sakhi Village were going to their village on motorcycle when a recklessly-driven bus bearing registration LRO-8085 ran over the bike, killing Nasrullah on the spot and injuring Sahib Khan critical. The injured was referred to Faisalabad Allied Hospital as his both legs fractured. Police have registered a case against the driver. Labourer wounded: A worker, Muzammal Hussain, working in the under-construction house of one Mehdi Hassan in Nautheh received multiple injuries when shuttering of lintel fell on him. He was pulled out of the debris and rushed to the hospital from where he was also a referred to Faisalabad.
