LAHORE - A division bench of Lahore High Court on Monday stayed auction of 1441 kanals land of the Auqaf Department located in Gujranwala district. The court passed the said interim order on a petition filed by a bidder, Jamil Akhtar, to question transparency of the auction and bidding process. The bench comprising of justice Sh Azmat Saeed and Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti also issued notice chief administrator Auqaf (CAA) for July 5. The bench also directed CAA to summit report on the matter relating to auction of the land. The petitioner has challenging the second auction of the land after the earlier one was cancelled. He had filed appeal against the order of a single bench of the Lahore High Court on the matter. The petitioner said he participated in auction and he was not allotted the bid only to favour some blue eyed bidders of the Auqaf department. The court adjourned further proceedings till July 5.
