LAHORE - Pakistan earned a huge honour as Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) vice president Taimur Hassan was elected as the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation secretary in the election held on Wednesday in the city of Changrai, Thailand. David Cherry of Australia is elected as the president of Asia Pacific Golf Confederation. A total of 38 countries took part in the election and Taimur’s success brings good tidings for golf in Pakistan and in the Asia Pacific region. Taimur will be responsible for golf development and promotion in the Asia Pacific and he will hold this portfolio for a period of two years. Speaking on the phone, Taimur said: “For me and my country, it is a big honour as I have been elected to respectable position in the Asian body and I will endeavour to bring international golf to my country.”–Staff Reporter
