LAHORE - Tourism Development Corporation Punjab will hold Lahore Rally Cross 2008 on October 19 at Sagian Bridge where more than 80 motorists will take part, said Managing Director TDCP Mian Waheed while addressing a press conference here on Monday in local hotel. Other senior officials of TDCP were also present on the occasion, in his address Mian said that purpose of the rally was to provide entertainment in the general atmosphere of unrest in the country. He said that rally would be participated by more than 80 motorists from across the country and there would be motorists of four category possessing patrol and diesel vehicles. He said that enough security measures would be taken on the venue and sitting arrangements of more than 1000 people would be made and separate sitting arrangement would be for the women. Mian claimed that TDCP was the pioneer of motor sports in the country and it had held four events of jeep rallies in Cholistan in the past. Now this entertainment has been brought to the city from desert. He said that entry fee has been fixed Rs. 5000 for each participant. We have not only depended upon police for security purpose but personnel of TDCP would also perform security duty on this occasion. Targeted distance of the race in Cholistan was 20 to 25 kilometers while this distance has been reduced to 8 to 10 kilometers.
