ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's 40-man contingent will leave Islamabad for Bali on Tuesday (today) to participate in the 1st Asian Beach Games 2008 which are scheduled to be held at Bali, Indonesia, from October 18-26. Pakistan will take part in six disciplines including wrestling, kabaddi, volleyball, handball, bodybuilding, wrestling and sailing. Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Sports will be the chef-de-mission of Pakistan contingent. Pakistan contingent except sailing will leave Bali via Doha on October 14 from Islamabad whereas sailing team will leave from Karachi on the same day. Syed Amir Hamza Gilani, Director General Pakistan Sports Board has already left Bali via Bangkok on October 12 to attend the delegation registration meeting (DRM) to be held on October 14. The opening ceremony of the international sports gala will be held on October 18. Meanwhile, the secretary for Ministry of Sports Muhammad Ashraf Khan, chef-de-mission also presided over a meeting of the managers of participating teams in his office on Monday at Pakistan Sports Complex. He informed the participants that the Pakistan Sports Board had provided best available facilities to the sportspersons during the training camps. He advised the players to maintain discipline on and off the field to project the image of Pakistan at abroad. Akhtar Ganjera, Deputy Director General (Tech) was also present at the occasion.
