Lahore - Former senator Nawabzada Mir Haji Lashkari Raisani met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on Monday. Overall situation of the country was discussed in the meeting with particular reference to the anti-government dharna by PTI and the PAT.

The chief minister said that solution of the problems being faced by the country is the collective responsibility of all political parties and their leaders. He said that Pakistan cannot afford politics of protests and sit-ins and protest.

He said that instead of pushing Pakistan deeper into crisis, the elements staging sit-ins should play their role for progress and prosperity of the country. He said that precious time of the nation has been wasted due to sit-ins.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the PML-N government will bring the country out of darkness and put it on the road to progress and development.

A meeting was held between Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar, on Monday. Development projects in the province and the measures for rehabilitation of flood affectees were discussed on the occasion.

The chief minister said that the process of payment of first installment of compensation to flood-hit people has been completed and it is the first time that financial assistance has been provided to the affectees in days instead of months. He said that provision of compensation so speedily and in such a transparent manner is unprecedented. He said that the process of payment of the second installment to the flood affectees will be started from October 20 during which losses of houses, crops and cattle will be compensated.
