PESHAWAR - A delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) led by its KP President Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Monday visited the JI provincial headquarters Al-Markaz Islami and discussed the prevailing political situation with Jamaat Islami (JI) Ameer Prof Muhammad Ibrahim. The MQM delegation also extended a goodwill gesture of party chief Altaf Hussain to Professor Ibrahim Khan. The MQM team assured the JI leadership of all-out support in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Barrister Saif said that JI practically brought respectable, sincere and medal class leadership into the national politics while MQM also adopted the same policy. “We believe MQM and JI should shun the previous differences and work for better relations in future,” he said, adding being provincial president of his party he assured the JI leadership of full support for resolving masses’ issues and development of the province.

Barrister Said said after assuming party responsibility he decided to meet the JI leadership first. To a query, Barrister Saif said that differences between MQM and JI were existed in the past but it did not mean that these difference would remain exist in future too.

JI KP Ameer Prof Ibrahim Khan said that JI would respond the MQM goodwill gesture with a goodwill gesture, saying better relations among political parties were in the interest of country. He also said that all the political parties should decide that every institution should remain in its domain and rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution in the country must be ensured.

About military operation, the JI KP chief said that use of force was not the solution of any problem, stressing the need for resolution of all issues politically. He asked the government to detach from the US-led so-called war on terror and stop military assault in the country.
