Against the killing of a fourth-year student in police firing, villagers thrashed the police party and blocked the Sargodha-Lahore Road by placing the body near Bhagtanwala.

Earlier, the Bhagtanwala police had raided a house to arrest a villager namely Muhammad Mansha in Lalowali village. Meanwhile, the police opened indiscriminate fire on the house. Resultantly, Tanveer, a student of fourth year, suffered volley of bullets and died on the spot. Against the incident, a number of locals gathered there and thrashed the police officials who later managed to escape from the scene. Later, the people placed the body on the road and protested against the police. They demanded registration of a case against the police officials. meantime, the road users faced trouble due to suspension of traffic due to blockade of the road. On the assurance of registration of a case against the perpetrators, the demonstrators dispersed.
