Former MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has said that Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) is providing quality medical treatment to the poor and needy patients free of cost.

Equipped with latest machinery and well-qualified doctors and paramedical staff, the RIC has achieved significant position in the city, Abbasi further said while addressing a ceremony organised in connection with the 2nd anniversary of RIC and a luncheon hosted in honour of RIC doctors and nursing staff here on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by RIC Executive Director Dr Azhar Mehmood Kiyani, Chairman Board of Management Allied Hospitals Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) Principal and Allied Hospitals Chief Executive Prof Dr Muhammad Umar, senior and junior doctors and nursing staff.

Abbasi said that RIC has been providing adequate health facilities to destitute segments of the society. “Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has established RIC to treat the poor free of charge,” he said. He said that all the conspiracies being hatched against the ruling party by its enemies have been foiled due to the passion of PML-N to serve the poor.

Chief Executive RIC Dr Azhar Mehmood Kiyani said that the nursing staff of the hospital was seeing patients with full care and dedication. He said that a total of 132,000 patients have been cured in RIC during the last two years. He informed that the doctors carried out angiography of 300 patients in a month in RIC while 90 patients went under process of angioplasty. He said that the hospital provided these facilities to the poor patients free of cost.
