PESHAWAR/LOWER DIR - Executive Committee Member of Awami National Party, Sher Muhammad Khan, was killed while his four other guards were injured when a remote-controlled bomb hit their vehicle in Bandai area of Lower Dir on Tuesday. Sources said that Sher Khan along with his driver and guards was travelling in Bandai area of district Lower Dir when he was targeted with a remote-controlled explosive device. Sher Khan died on the spot while the other four people got injured in the incident. Soon after the incident the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surrounding areas, however no arrest was made. The injured were shifted to District Hospital Timergarah where their condition was stated to be out of danger. Condemning the attack on Khan, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan said that such incidents would not deter the provincial governments firm resolve to fight terrorism. He expressed sorrow over the death of Khan and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. He said that terrorists were fulfilling enemys agenda and they had no relation with the holy religion of Islam, saying those who shed the blood of innocent people on the name of religion cannot be protected from the wrath of Allah Almighty. He said that entire nation should stand united to fight against these terrorist elements. He said that ANP sacrifices in the war against terror were not hidden from any one and it was ready for more sacrifices for the cause of peace. Agencies add: Slain ANP District President Sher Khan was also chairman of district zakat committee and member of peace committee.
