ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority has established two wards, each with a capacity of three-bed, for intensive care and efficient treatment of dengue patients. Both the wards have been equipped with all relevant gadgets including masks, mosquito nets, mosquito repellent lotion and spray. A special team has also been formed for treatment and supervision of the dengue patients. Executive Director Capital Hospital Dr Siddiq Akbar Satti apprised this in a review meeting chaired by Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, who was given a detailed briefing on the arrangements made in the hospital. The Environment Wing has already closed all the fountains in the city and all the water accumulated there was being drained out to avoid growth of mosquitoes. Among other experts comprising the team include Dr Rashid Iqbal and Dr Fiaz Lodhi. Moreover, some other doctors have also been put on alert to be available in case of any emergency. Dr Satti said that two dengue patients namely Nazeeran Bibi and Naseeran Bibi were under treatment in the hospital and both are stable. Briefing about the blood bank in the hospital, he said sufficient blood and platelets have been arranged there to cope with the demand.
