OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chairman Town Emergency Response Committee on Dengue MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmad has stressed upon public to lend a helping hand to the government in its efforts to eradicate dengue virus and keep their homes, offices, business places and surroundings clean. Addressing a seminar held here Tuesday for raising public awareness regarding dengue virus, he said that the Sri Lankan team was brining chemical and equipment to combat the menace. Mian Marghoob said that Sri Lanka was the country where dengue has been eliminated. He hoped that the cooperation of Sri Lankan team would help eliminating dengue. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan said that the citizens should make the slogan of government hathon main hath do, dengue ko maat do a success. He said that people should not look towards government for the solution of every problem and move forward while realizing own responsibilities. He said that the desired results could not be achieved without involving women in the campaign against dengue virus. He said that women could play an important role in eradication of dengue by keeping their homes neat and clean. He said that he has prepared a documentary regarding dengue which also includes message of Punjab government and it would be shown at news channels, by cable operators and schools and colleges. He said that he was also making arrangements for screening this film at all big crossing of his constituency. Later, pamphlets and copies of documentary regarding eradication of dengue virus were distributed among the participants of the seminar.
